Spike Blackhurst is fully insured to teach and also has a professional teaching qualification, a copy of which is available on request.

Terms & Conditions

I understand that by booking this experience, I have given up my right to take legal action against Spike Blackhurst should I suffer personal injury. I understand that by requesting to take part in working in the forge, operating and using the forging equipment, I am responsible for my own health and safety.

All courses include materials. PPE will be provided but please wear sturdy shoes/boots and old clothes. No Fleeces, please.

I understand it is my responsibility to ensure I am wearing the equipment provided safety glasses, gloves, apron, ear defenders and face shields are all provided.

Those attending any of the courses will be provided with hot drinks throughout the day if required.

When booking a course a 50% non refundable deposit is required and the balance to be paid on the course day. 

As the forge is a potentially hazardous working environment unsuitable behaviour may result in removal from the premises.

In the unlikely event of a class being cancelled by me, all deposits are fully refundable. However I cannot be responsible for any other costs incurred.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.
